Avoid snacking in between meals. This is where all the calories lie and you can see yourself gaining weight by snacking while on a diet. If you have hunger pangs, eat foods which show lower calories in their labels and nutritional facts. Don't eat junk foods, like fritos, lays, doritos, cheetos, cookies etc. Carrot and celery can be an ideal snacks for you.
When you buy dairy products, choose the low fat ones. Fats are major calorie inputs so low at reduces the calorie you intake, and at the same time you get o enjoy a wholesome meals.
